Loathe to ask... Anytime Upgrade gone to He11
Brand new Dell. Even managed to call back and get the recovery disk (we) deserve!
"Media reduction" calls for NO recovery disks to come w/ laptops. Booo.
Then came the Windows Anytime Upgrade K3yg3n. WHY it would be tested on my new computer is beyond me. WHY it would work on a standard user account versus my administrator account is beyond me. ...lastly, why it passed WGA / Validation (not just activation) is even more beyond me.
Here's my question. Someone please help me on this one.
I couldn't get past the dual-boot-like black & white OS screen: it says choose the OS to boot from "Windows 7 Ultimate" (should say Home Premium,) or "Windows 7 Loader."
Before my recovery disk arrived, I used the recovery partition to reformat.
I have no choice anymore, and luckily got my proper Home Premium back.
But, there's still a "blink" of that screen, as-if the fingerprint is still in the background. Would a "boot from CD" method / reformat do the trick, assuming I erased all partitions, made it factory-style, including all bloatware, drivers from CD, etc.?
Whoever helps me solve this deserves a million bucks.
Sorry for the sarcasm; miffed, to say the least, with the blunder done onto my new computer. It's no ASUS G-Series, granted, but it's a kick in the head to have done.
