Hello and welcome to the SevenForums!

Excellent work by yourself! Really excellent! This has also allowed me to miss out all of the normal stuff, and skip straight to a fix designed specifically for your computer!

WARNING! This fix was created specifically for this user! If you are not this user, do not follow these instructions!

Download the attached .zip file. Inside it, will be two folders, Packages and Manifests.

Create these folders if they do not already exist: C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages\ and C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Manifests

Extract Packs.zip onto your Desktop. Please place the contents of my Desktop\Packages in C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages\ and my Desktop\Manifests in C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Manifests.

DO NOT place the .zip file in that folder, or the folders themselves. Make sure that a lot of files are in each of those Checksur folder.

Re-run the System Update Readiness Tool, and get me another copy of C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log.

Also, please retest Windows Updates (with fingers slightly crossed, no matter how much we both know that that won't help! lol.)

Thanks!

Richard

Thanks niemiro

I tried some updates after restarting. Some work, some don't unfortunately.
The ones I've tried and don't work are;
Windows6.1-KB2479628-x64
Windows6.1-KB2467023-x64

Haven't tried Windows Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems or Windows 7 SP1 yet.

It gives a new error of 80073712. I assume is still a corruption thing though.

Hello again!

Some errors fixed, some to go :)

Please download the new Packs2.zip, and copy everything in the Manifests folder to C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\winsxs\Manifests

This is different from my previous post. There was a mistake in my previous post. I am really sorry for this, and I hope that you will accept my apology.

Then please rerun the System Update Readiness Tool again, and retry Windows Update.

Thanks!

Richard

Same here

I also get the 800B0100 error when I try to update to internet explorer 9. I also run W7 x64. Your solution was supposed to be specific for CoolStory. So I guess I can't use your recipe for my pc. What should I do?
Thanks

Hello!

Yes, that solution was specific, and running it could make your computer worse than it is now. However, I am willing to make a fix specifically for you :)

Please run the System Update Readiness Tool if you haven't already: Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7, and for Windows Server 2008 R2

Then upload your C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log into a new thread, and I shall create you a fix :D

Thanks a lot!

Richard

Don't know if I done it right. I've downloaded the hotfix from the given link. It did installed but where... I can't find it. Thought that it could be an autorun type but there is no CheckSUR file in the given path. Can you give me more info?
Thanks
