Solved Windows 7 Ult. X64 unable to create partition

Dear all,

As this kind of thread is already been made years ago, I would like to re-open a new one as I cannot figure it out to solve the problem.

I had a pc with a Core i3 CPU, and 12gb DDR3 RAM and I decided to do a massive upgrade for 950 euros of hardware and now I have set up a new case with an MSi Titanium Z270 motherboard and a CPU Intel core i7, 7700K LGA1151.
Installed with success though, no complications and everything runs like a charm.
Although, my existing Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installation didn't really start normally and had a blue screen which is obvious. So I decided to format my hard drive and do a clean install of Windows 7 from the very same DVD I used to install my now existing installation.
Only this time I encountered the error which more people are facing when installing Win7, "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition".
I tried to install Win7 from this DVD to another clean pc and had the same error so it is not my pc that's failing.

The funny thing is, I also have a copy of Win7 Ult. X86 and that one installs smooth without any complications!
Is it just my cd or is this version of Windows corrupted?

Welcome to the forum. Normally if you delete all partitions first and leave it blank it will work the problem is down to disk setting using MBR, gpt or UEFI and if your using an install with no service park sljpstreamed

Thanks! Well if I delete all partitions using the Win7 installation menu and make a new one, set the disk space to full capacity, and then format it. When done, it should be ready to be installed with Win7, right? I've tried that, also using DISKPART doing all the things to get the harddisk ready for installation. But whatever I do, Windows still annoys me with the very same message. So you say I have to delete all partitions and then start the Win7 installation so Win7 will sort it out by itself?

Right now I run Win7 Ultimate x86 just to have something on my pc... My installed memory is 16GB DDR4-3000 and I'm only able to use 2GB...

Many thanks all, but I found the solution already!
The steps to do a clean installation has already been done without success.
I have downloaded a legal version of Win7 Ultimate x64 at sof***.net.
That is a free Windows 7 download without a product key.
I used my own product key to install the downloaded Windows 7 Ultimate x64 setup and it worked!
Apparently the DVD copy I used to install Win7 has become corrupted. Don't ask me why, but the DVD wasn't even damaged.

Barman58 Didn't get any signs of Malware though... And yeah is it really piracy? Even without a product key? I thought otherwise the website would have been taken down by the government. Anyway, luckily, I have my PC up and running again.
jack No, I took those USB tools from Softlay as well. No problems during installation. I hope Softlay is not being a criminal by spreading this, otherwise I would feel guilty making ads for that website.

One must be careful of other things they install on their system. Therefor it's very important what you install and where you get it from.
