    Hi SIW2,

Thanks again. I've downloaded the zip file & will run it tomorrow, when I'm feeling a bit stronger.

The more I get involved with windows, the more confused I get; I've been keeping been keeping a diary of everything I've tried and changed in the last 10 days, so that I can edit what actually worked. It may seem a bit childish to you, but in most cases I've never met the problems and solutions before in my life!

Oh for the good old days of Windows 98, which I only stopped using because Finale / MakeMusic would no long run.

    Onwards and inwards.

So, I'll go off-line & see how long my activation lasts for. Thanks for all the help!

If you want to check your activation, run another MGADiag report, and post it - the last one indicated that you still had 30 days to go in the grace period, so you won't get shouted at for another couple of weeks, yet :)

    Hi Noel,

The new MGSDIAG doesn't refer to the days left in a grace period, so I'll stop at that and wait 31.

    Thanks

The important lines in the report are... (from your earlier report)

Windows Product Key: *****-*****-74XYM-BH4JX-XM76F - should now show your COA Key
Windows Product ID: 00359-112-0000007-85608 - should now show a more complex number in the 3rd group

    ....

    Partial Product Key: XM76F
    License Status: Initial grace period
    Time remaining: 40680 minute(s) (28 day(s))
    Remaining Windows rearm count: 1
    Trusted time: 22/05/2020 11:57:11

All values should now have been updated.

I will look forward to hearing you say that the problem has gone away! It is probable that I did something stupid like a typo when I tried to enter the COA label data during the Windows Repair. I think I'll take to the Repair Man next time.

    Thanks
