Who can I contact if my legal Windows 7 key is blocked from activation

    No you don't :) - just go to MS and download the Win 10 ISO.
    Use your Windows 7 Key for access. (the one in the report now)

    You're full of surprises. The Microsoft "Man" on the phone told me I'd have to pay full price even though I was asking if I could upgrade from an existing legal copy of Windows 7.


    I dare say it might be wise to upgrade, although I had just got reasonably familiar with Windows 7. (I'm always a decade behind).


    It does seem a pity to abandon a system that is now working quite well. Maybe i should just unplug the internet connection and use it stand-alone, with an HP laptop on Win 10 which I have learned to hate.


    But this is getting beyond the original reason for the thread.

    The upgrade isn't exactly 'approved' - but MS made that particular bed, so they can lie in it, as far as I'm concerned!
