Having said that, it is really a new problem, if the search for updates is now functional, but the install is no longer working fully.
I would encourage you to start a new thread for that reason - it does allow more people to respond (WU is definitely not my speciality - I just hsppen to know some stuff because of the interaction with WGA processes)

Its not a new problem. The same problem insists -it was fixed temporarily with your solution. I just added more info.
