    CheckSUR can only fix problems when it has the necessary files available - If it was able to repair everything, it would be a multi-GB download.
    Manual assistance is required in cases where the tool hits the buffers :)
    The trick is knowing where to get the necessary files, and how to get them where they are needed.

    Ok, ran sfc, no problems,
    Ran SP1, fell asleep, woke up and wham bam! Installed!

    Everything running smoothly this morning! I'm not sure what kind of Santa Claus magic you did last night creeping around my computer, but it's working! Thank you very very much! This issue has been troubling me for a long time now. Awesome!

    Ah thanks Noel I must admit I thought it ran "as is" that is a nice and easy explanation for an old dunce to konw.
