    Hi Carl,

That's much better, we're down to 3 errors now. Just for future reference, can you post logs here please? The reason I asked you to use SendSpace for your COMPONENTS hive was because it's a very large file which is well over the attachment size limit.

    Hi Carl,

    All sorted!

    Download this file please: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/16537616/CarlB_v2.zip

Save it to your Desktop. Then right click > Extract All... and extract the contents to your Desktop. There should be one file, COMPONENTS (with no extension).

    Then navigate to this folder:

    C:\Windows\system32\config\

In that folder, rename the file COMPONENTS to COMPONENTS.bak

Copy the COMPONENTS file from your Desktop to this folder, then reboot your computer please.

After you have rebooted, run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again and post the log please:

    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

    Same problem

    Hi Tom
I'm getting exactly the same problem as Carl and have tried several times to resolve (as he did). Do you think you could help me out also?
I can provide you with the CheckSUR details if necessary.
    Many thanks

    Hi Simon,

I'd be more than happy to help you out with this, but to prevent things from getting confusing, can you start a new thread of your own please?

Make sure you include your CheckSUR log! Post a link to your thread here when you've made it and I'll see what I can do.

    Hi Shazza,
Like a lot of the users, he's moved with the times only occassionaly popping in.

Follow the instructions in the sticky, start a new thread, we'll go from there.
