    .... here's the CheckSUR results....
    Code:
    Checking Component Store
    (f) CSI Missing Identity 0x00000000 appid 6a8fcb690db..8d0ba1e04cf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.22653_ef68be9025bdf54e
    (f) CSI Missing Identity 0x00000000 appid 967b65312c0..edc10558113_31bf3856ad364e35_11.2.9600.16521_ffb9abd47b907fbd
    (f) CSI Corrupt Deployment Keyform 0x00000000 appid 21f12e9d52d..f90f7f0b807_31bf3856ad364es5_6.1.7601.22296_f3e6c00561fc7bbd appid and keyform do not match; keyform is wrong.
The log file gives us no idea where the solution is to be found.
    I'll post when/what I can - it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

    I've uploaded a file - bbsae.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it to your desktop.
Right-click on the file and select Extract All, and save to the default destination (which should be a folder on the desktop)

Create a new System Restore point

Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands.

    DEL C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS.OLD*
    REN C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS COMPONENTS.OLD
    COPY %userprofile%\desktop\bbsae\COMPONENTS C:\Windows\System32\config

If you get an error with either command, STOP THERE - do not reboot! - post for instructions.

Assuming both commands go OK, reboot, and run another CheckSUR scan - post the new CheckSUR.log file.

I ran SFC /SCANNOW and have uploaded the new CBS log here: https://app.box.com/shared/static/bo...edmph92bav.zip

The scan found no integrity violations. However, when I attempt to run Windows Update, the service finds 5 important updates however they fail to install with 2 error codes:

    1. Code 80073712
    2. Code 8007371B

The 5 updates it is trying to install are:
    1. KB2962872
    2. KB2973351
    3. KB2952664
    4. KB2966583
    5. KB2973337

OK - please upload the COMPONENTS hive again - the CBS data indicates there is still corruption present - and I'll see what I can do with it.

I've worked on the errors that I saw - now we have to cross fingers and pray.

    I've uploaded a file - bbsaf.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it to your desktop.
Right-click on the file and select Extract All, and save to the default destination (which should be a folder on the desktop)

Create a new System Restore point

Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands.

    DEL C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS.OLD*
    REN C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS COMPONENTS.OLD
    COPY %userprofile%\desktop\bbsaf\COMPONENTS C:\Windows\System32\config

If you get an error with either command, STOP THERE - do not reboot! - post for instructions.

Assuming both commands go OK, reboot, and run another CheckSUR scan - post the new CheckSUR.log file.
Also run a new SFC scan and post the new CBS.log - assuming both are clear, please attempt the install again.

    Latest Update

    Hi Noel.

The Windows Updates are still failing with the same errors. It looks like the CheckSUR picked up a few issues that it couldn't fix.

Here is the latest CheckSUR log file: https://app.box.com/shared/static/9a...mq3wt5dyeo.log

Not too bad - I'll try and find time to work on these this evening.
