Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 - repeated update error 0x80073712
Hey all, I have a lenovo tower running windows 7 home premium service pack 1, all seems to be working great except when I go to do updates, every update is installed except this one nagging one that fails repeatedly.
The Update is Security Update KB2847927 and the error code is 0x80073712
When the update didn't install I hit help that took me to this page
Windows Update error 0x80073712
I ran the System File Checker tool as administrator in cmd prompt sfc /scannow when it finished it said Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
I tried again to install the update but it failed.
The next step was to download and install the System Update Readiness tool, installed that, said finished after about 5 mins (read that it appears to hang but just let it go) and yeah it seemed to install but after that the update still won't install fails with same error code.
That's where the microsoft page stops in terms of what to check or do, so now I come to the group hoping to find some answers.
I read the page that showed the steps to reporting about an error and have attempted to attach my cbs.zip file but it keeps saying
500 - Internal server error.
I am supposed to be attaching the entire cbs folder saved as a zip then uploading that cbs.zip correct?
It's showing as 27.3MB is that too big? For me everytime I try to upload that zip file I just get that server error, I will try again after I post the thread if there is anything else I am missing detail wise please let me know.
The computer sure seems to run just fine except this one pesky update that won't load.
Thanks for reviewing this info and trying to help me resolve it.
Bill :)
