Out of the blue yesterday I started getting a message that my copy of Win 7 Prof is not genuine. I saw on other threads that antivirus software can cause this and I have Norton installed. I tried the sticky solution of the wordpad script and got an error that it couldn't be done because some threads were in use. Here's my diag tool report:

The computer's had no issues for a year and this just started yesterday. I don't really want to have to wipe my SSD for a new windows install so any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

Did it happen after the new updates? This is a known problem, MS is working on it.
If it is, I can give you the KB number and you can uninstall it.

I installed a number of updates on 12/9 so it was after the new updates, I suppose. I don't have any real issues with the computer; I'm still able to do everything I ever was, it just occasionally says Windows isn't genuine. As long as I don't continue to have any serious problems I suppose it isn't terribly important but I posted the diagnostic in case somebody knows what they're looking at and identifies a problem I can solve.

Try uninstalling KB3004934 - it may solve the problem

Do you perhaps mean KB3004394? That's the closest I have to KB3004934 and I wondered if maybe it was a typo?

I'm also suffering this genuine win7 issue.
I uninstalled the KB3004394 and it still keeps popping up. I tried system restore and it fails probably because the KB3004394 is no longer there.

Any idea when ms will fix this?

Wow, happened to me just one minute ago! Patched my test box on Tuesday then today, while NOT connected to the Internet, up popped the not genuine message but checking Control Panel > System shows it is OK.

Hmm.
