Solved 2 out of cycle Imporant updates today 18 March 2015

Yeah, I got that one too. Either there's a lot of new threats hitting the web or MS goofed on a previous Def-file. I'll run another scan later.

Well I just ran updates cleanup and they showed up on my 32 bit machine
I only reinstalled the relevant one and not the command monitor network traffic blah...
So it was windows update cleanup that caused the issue

I had that one earlier, it showed up in Windows Updates at about 120KB as I recall, although as always I installed it through MSE rather than as a Windows Update. It certainly didn't take any longer to install than usual.

Check the version number, it can't be the same. Definition 1.193.3192.0 is over 1MB. That's on top of the previous three yesterday totaling over 1MB also.

That was certainly the same version number. I can't find a way of checking the file size after installing it, but it's certainly my recollection that it was pretty standard in size and timing.

OK, so this was interesting.

I got the 4 updates today. Two were for IE. One (KB3021952) aka MS15-009 was labeled as a definition update dated Feb 10, 2015. It was the same size as the second update, a Cumulative IE update MS15-018 Dated Mar 10, 2015.
So I installed the 009 update alone, first.
Installed fine, but then the other IE update disappeared. Hasn't come back yet. :huh:

So now the two security updates. They were both the same size also. Curious, I installed the first one alone (KB3031432). You guessed it, the second one disappeared! (Sorry, didn't think to note that KB#)

Update History: 2 Updates installed today. Available updates: Windows is up to date.

Clearly to me both of these updates are misclassified as Important,
They should in the beginning have been classified as Optional.

Don't run Windows Update Cleanup In Disk Cleanup... M$ FUBARed superseded updates detection logic somehow...

Actually I'm glad I did I'm not interested in either of those updates,
To me they're misclassified
