A possible fix for windows 7 update problem
The easy fix for Windows 7 not updating is actually quite simple, the problem is to find out how.
The first thing you do is to go into Microsoft Automatic update and turn it completely off in the update settings. This has to be done first.
Down load the Microsoft Standalone Update for SP1 and install
Then make sure you have the April 2015 Servicing Stack update KB3020369 down load it and install If it is already there it will tell you.
Then download the All In one Microsoft Convenience Roll up KB3125574 for your version of windows 7 and install.
Once this is installed your computer will search for other updates and install them after these are complete turn on your automatic update and you will find everything is working normally. If my instructions are slightly confusing search for “How to Geek Windows 7 all at once update with the Microsoft Connivance Rollup” and the site will give you step by step instructions with links to the update sites.
It really irritates me that Microsoft who is the cause of the problem does not just list the steps in one spot that is easy to find with a simple search which would give them an abundance of good will, however their attitude seems to be make it as hard as possible so you will move on to their new operating system. Windows 10 is excellent however I am not going to put it on a 2gb memory net book that will not handle it and I only use for email when travelling
