Windows 7 clean install and then update without countless restarts?
I'm about to do a clean install of windows 7 professional 64bit. I hope to avoid going through the endless cycles of updates that are required to get the system current. Usually a clean install would be followed up several rounds of updates via windows update. These require multiple restarts and sometimes update A needs to be downloaded and installed before update B can be applied.
I remember reading that it was possible to manually download and install one update that would take care of most updates in one go. Not sure if this is possible, but I remember reading something about it and bookmarking the website. Unluckily my computer crashed and I had to reinstall my system and I have no idea where I saw that article, nor do I have any idea what any of the technical terms are - that means I wouldn't even know what to type into the search bar if I wanted to use google.
Does any one have an idea of what I'm talking about, or do I need to provide more information? Again, I'm looking to do a clean install and then quick update of windows 7 professional. I think when I install it I won't even have service pack 1.
Help would be greatly appreciated. :)
