    Windows Update Client Update

Just installed (on a test machine) a W7 integration I built in February 2016. It was built from an original (May 2011?) SP1 ISO plus around 290 selected updates.

My aim is to see how many updates will then be on offer from MS.

After doing some research, it seemed that I should probably install several update files after running the integration. These are:
    1) KB3020369 - a Servicing Stack update,
    2) KB3050265 - which contains the Group Policy alteration that enables W10 to be blocked,
    3) KB3138612 - which is apparently the most recent update for the Windows Client Update.

But I found I'd already included 3020369 in my integration, so I only installed 3050265 and 3138612.

However, after doing all that and getting online, Windows Update has been running for around 1 hour with no result, so maybe I need some further updates for the Windows Update Client?

    Comments, please.

You also need to install KB3172605
    Follow these instructions exactly.
First, set Windows Updates to never check for Updates.
Next restart your computer, Then install KB3172605.

Windows updates should return to normal. You can then reset your updates to automatically check for updates if desired

pbcopter, thanks. I'll give that a try.

Later: Yep, worked like a charm!
    Cheers
