What is a COEM license?

my license is COEM, and i can download from Microsoft and activate on other motherboards so what is it?

COEM (compliant original equipment manufacturer), produced outside OEM factories, but same specification and quality as OEM

You don`t have to download the COEM iso, the OEM is the same thing.

What version do you want, what language and what bit version ? I will post the direct Microsoft link, your key will not work to download the iso file, but you can try, let me know what happens. But be quick.

I appreciate your help i have already windows iso, did you have to put product key to download? and why my key does work? according to you it should not and will I be able to transfer this license as many times as I want? This is the Filename when i download from microsoft: Win7_Ult_SP1_English_COEM_x64. BTW thanks

When I said it would not work, I meant if you have a OEM key it would not work to download the iso file from Microsoft, but you must have a System Builders key, that`s why it downloaded the COEM iso, which is no different then the OEM Iso file.

The Microsoft site should only work with a Retail or a System Builders key, but some have reported that their OEM key has worked.

No, I did not have to enter a key to post the link for you, we know of ways around that.

A Retail license key can be used on any PC as long as it`s only activated on 1 PC at any given time.

A System Builders or OEM key is tied to the motherboard it is installed on and can not be transferred to another PC.

But of course there`s no one to enforce that rule

So if I need a home premium installation for a computer how do I download it with out putting the product key in? and your saying i will be able to succesfully activate a windows oem license on a ex. custom built PC?
