    Windows Update problem

Like many others I have a problem with Windows Update not working.

    Background History:

I had a bad motherboard and a suspect hard drive so installed a new MB and hard drive.

Still had a problem so I got a fresh new Win 7 sp1 disk with a COA

Installed new Wn7 as an upgrade to keep my current programs, settings etc.

Still have same problem with new MB and drive.

Downloaded SURT and ran - hangs up on Windows Standalone Installer Searching.

Other notes have high CPU usage on svchost. Have two other systems with win7 and they update fine.

Windows is 64 bit home premium.

    So what to do next?

    Hi,
Review post #2 of either of the links for an older existing updating issue,
Windows Update will not update and I've tried multiple fixes

    Or a Clean install
    windows update

I installed the three updates mentioned manually which solved the problem.
    Thank you!
