Unable to update Service Pack 1

Hi. I'm using a Windos 7 Home Premium 64bit OS on a Asus laptop. The problem is that Windows Update shows 2 important updates and one of them being the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 x64 (KB976932) update. The other one is a Windows Live 2011 (KB2434419) update.

I've been trying to install Service Pack 1 on my Windows 7 for several days now. I've tried trough Windows Update and to install it manually and both of those tries have failed many times now.

The last error code that I've got with the failed update to SP1 is code 8024000B.

I feel that I've tried everything that I can and know right now but Windows Update seems to be stuck when I try to update sp1 and when I try manually it fails and say's that atleast 1 system component/file is missing to do the update...

Can anyone help with this? Much appreciated.

You may be better off getting the x64 installation media that includes SP1.

Microsoft Windows and Office ISO Download Tool - HeiDoc.net

Then do a repair install.Repair Install - Windows 7 Help Forums

You will need a license key. There should be one on a sticker somewhere on your machine. Sometimes under the battery.

You may want specific drivers for your laptop - you will find them at Asus site for your model.

You can use dism++ for downloading and installing updates. Dism++x86/x64

I may have hit a brick wall with this update.

Windows ISO Download Tool tells me to check my internet connection everytime I launch it and doesn't let me do anything... With a perfectly fine internet connection that I've used downloading larger files on the internet before.

Too bad. I really have no idea what to do with this anymore.
