    Windows won't update

    Hi everyone.

I had a problem when tried to install Code Composer Studio. At some point an error occurs and message is displayed telling me, that installation cannot further be proceeded, because I am missing Windows patch KB2999226. Thus I tried to install it individually, from Microsoft Download Center.

When trying to install it, I get message that patch is not applicable. I opened Windows Update to try to install currently pending updates, out of curiosity if that might solve problem. But updates fail to install, or installation lasts for hours before I cancel it. Here's the image:

Entering Update History showed me that almost every update since end of the year 2014. failed to install. Another image:

sfc scan verified there are corrupted files but it couldn't fix them all. Here is the CBS zip file:

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Service Pack 1.

Hi when the sfc came back with corrupted files you should run it 3 times and reboot after each run.

Have you tried a system restore.

You need to uninstall KB3004394. KB302477 was a patch to fix the problems caused by it, but if it was already installed ? Really Nice of M$ to Not tell people as well as Not issuing a patch that could do it automatically I'd suggest doing a Disc Cleanup and deleting everything in the C: Windows Softwaredistribution Download folder as well.

Frankly I'm Amazed that Windows Update actually finishes searching for updates. Not sure on just how many updates have been installed or not (?) so using The Simplix Pack might be an option to consider to bring the OS up-to-date ?

If running sfc three times as posted above doesn't fix it after removing the KB3004394, you might consider backing up your data and doing a refresh install.

Thank you both for helping me with the issue. Yes, kb3004394 was the problem as it seems. As an amateur I wasn't aware that problems I had with Windows Update feature, Throubleshooth feature etc. could be a result of installing this famous patch, more than two years ago.
After uninstalling it, sfc scan passed without finding any problem. I managed to install needed update, and finally to install CCS.
Thank you guys again! Consider this problem solved!
