Startup days after System Restore
Please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong location. I am familiar with forums, but an inexperienced user.
On Feb 18 I turned on my laptop and received the black boot up screen with the options for safemode, networking, or normal. When I attempted to boot it brought me directly to the screen stating I needed to preform a system recovery or diagnostic. I have been in IT for a while and have never had issues working with system restore before. Laptops, however, are new to me. As is Windows 7.
I preformed the system diagnostic and it led me to do a system restore. I did this to the point I knew my computer was fine, before installing itunes. (I hate apple and everything about them). My computer rebooted and everything was fine. It popped up with the regular window: Your computer has successfully been restored to Feb 17. I ran some maintenance and preformed my virus scans. Nothing appeared to be wrong. It ran fine all day and that evening. I shut down my laptop before bed and everything went smoothly.
The next morning: Feb 19. I booted my computer up. It started just fine and went to windows. When the desktop screen appeared there was a command window and a popup in the background. It took about 120 seconds for the command window to disappear and the desktop to come up. The pop up stated Your computer has successfully been restored to Feb 17.
TODAY: FEB 20 - Booted my computer. Same issue. Gets almost to desktop. Opens command window. Shows popup Your computer has successfully been restored to Feb 17.
Please help. This is irritating. I am afraid it will cause problems for future installations and updates.
I will try to answer any questions regarding my problem. Thank you :)
