Invisible BSOD on computer wake after long periods - Hard reset needed

    I've unfortunately given up on Dell support as they have already replaced video cards, HDD, motherboard, then they sent me an entirely new system which is producing the same results as the last system and now they say I need to reinstall windows AGAIN to fix the problem. I've had this problem with three installsnof windows across both machines so it doesn't seem logical to lose all my datat again if you know what I mean.

    What type of tests are you thinking?

    No problem. I've outlined the tests we normally recommend for 0x124s to try and show up which hardware it is that's faulty.



    If you're overclocking your system, revert back to stock clocks now.

    Run Prime95 to stress test your CPU. Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95

       Warning
    Your CPU temperatures will rise quickly while under this stress test. Keep a keen eye on them.


    Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. RAM - Test with Memtest86+

       Note
    MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.


    Run SeaTools to check the integrity of your HDD. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use

    Run Furmark to stress test your GPU. Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

       Note
    Run Furmark for around 30 minutes.

       Warning
    Your GPU temperatures will rise quickly while Furmark is running. Keep a keen eye on them.

    OK, so I have done the testing except the gpu (I'll get to that tomorrow) but I wanted to touch base as everytime I run Prime95 it shuts off due to what I'm assuming as excessive heat. The first test I ran without the heat monitor running and it made it about 5-10 minutes. Then after a 10 minute break I tried running the test again with the temp monitor running and it immediately shoots up to 100C and then just shuts down without warning. No dump file or nothing.

    Is this normal?

    OK, just logged on to test video card and opened the computer to find it wouldn't boot again but this time I got another dump file which I have attached.

    PLEASE tell me there is good info in this one!!!!

    The last dump is a 0xD1 which is usually down to a device driver but none are showing up. Do you have Driver Verifier enabled?

    I had it enable earlier in the posts but disabled it after nothing seemed to happen as I thought leaving it on would tax the computer?

    It will stress the system drivers, your hardware will be fine. But it's only advisable really to run it for 24 hours at a time. Can you enable it again and upload any subsequent logs from resulting BSODs, hopefully some are created.

    So just to confirm with driver verifier I only select the drivers not by microsoft? There are only like 30 non micro drivers and must be 100 micro drivers. Does this sound correct?

    Driver Verifier will stress your drivers and cause BSODs if any fail. Follow this tutorial to enable/disable it. Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

    Enable Driver Verifier but only enable these options:
    Standard settings and IRP logging step 3.
    Don't enable Force Pending I/O Requests

       Warning
    Make a System Restore point before enabling Driver Verifier.

       Note
    Your system will act very sluggishly while DV is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.

    Ok, so last night I enabled driver verifier again as suggested but it was late so I rebooted first, allowed everything to load, and then closed the lid like I do everynight. I worked today so wasn't able to use the computer at all. When I got home I pressed the power button and a blue screen came up saying there was an error and it logged it etc. This is great news except it is so different from my original problem that I'm worried it may be something else? Not only was it difficult to get it to spit out a dump file in the past but it happened with a blue screen and I wasn't even using the computer. If you read my earlier posts you will understand the problem I have been having without me explaining it here again further.

    I have attached the dump files and hope there is some substance on this one as all the others haven't really showed anything.
