    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0x000000d1 randomly now no boot

    Hello,
    I have a computer that I have been trying to get to work. I have tested hard drive with dell diags, pc doctor, and seatools. It has passed all test multiple times including memtest 10 passes, also I have reload the windows 7 pro 64bit operating system about 4-5 times. After doing all windows updates, adobe reader/flash,drivers from dell.com, and installing kaspersky anti-virus it will work for a few days. Then randomly it will bluescreen and will not boot into os again. I have tried to disable all microsoft drivers through verifier but it still will not boot normal or safe mode. I have got some startup repair details if anyone can help as well as bluescreenview. The only thing I haven't tried yet is to replace hard drive and reinstall. When I try to restore the computer to a previous point it still will not boot. The only way I have been able to get the computer to boot into windows again was wipe the drive with a partition program, normal format from windows install would not work after reboot. All most seems like the MBR goes corrupt on it own randomly. Let me know what you think.
    Thanks,

    I have to restore the computer to a previous restore point so I could boot into the operating system again. I restored it to a date before the card reader driver was updated and 3 windows update points
    Thanks,

    There is no crash dump in the zip that you uploaded. Probably due to that system restore.

    Do the upload again after the computer BSODs once again. Dont run any disc cleanup tool before you upload another zip.

    The dump that I have is in the original post, also let I said in the post once the computer bluescreens it will not boot normal/safe mode. It just show the windows logo then straight to start up repair. I was honestly surprise that a system restore worked.
    I had got 4-5 of these laptops without hard drives and I used the same image for all of them and this is the only one that I have had issues with. First two times the computer didn't boot into windows, so we reload from the image again. Second it came back with a wifi issue (would not detect wifi adapter) uninstall/reinstall wifi driver. Which didn't fix the issue, then system restore to a previous point which broke the computer again to a no boot into windows. Third time we went to reload from usb windows 7 clean installation, after setup files were loaded the computer restarted then never booted. I then took out the hard drive and wipe all partition with a partition program. Fourth time it took the install from usb windows 7 clean installation everything was going good, ran windows updates restart twice, then no boot again into windows. Fifth time wiped all parts, then image, then updates,adobe,drivers from dell, and kaspersky, everything was working for several days. Then again here we are in the same boat. I just don't want to waste time putting a hard drive in if you believe it maybe a hard drive controller on the motherboard. As I believe if there were software issues we would have the other 4-5 laptops coming back.
    Let me know what you think.
    Thanks,

    A stop 0xD1 is generally a driver caused BSOD. ntoskrnl.exe is not a driver, but the kernel on which the BSOD occurred. Either teh crash dump recording mechanism failed to determine the proper failing module or the employed dump interpreting tool is incompetent to find it out.

    So we need to check the crash dump to know which driver is causing the BSOD.

    Code:
    BugCheck D1, {0, 2, 8, 0}

    Probably caused by : intelppm.sys ( intelppm!PerfStatesFeedbackHandler+4c )

    Followup: MachineOwner
    ---------
    Now the scope enhances. Either it is a failing BIOS/Chipset or a failing processor/hardware.
    The installed BIOS is
    Code:
    BiosVersion = A02
    BiosReleaseDate = 04/13/2011
    Search for any possible update for it from Dell, for your Latitude E6520.

    Please be aware that BIOS updates are risky. If you dont have any previous experience with it, dont do it yourself. Take assistance form somebody who can do it. You can call a technician for it, too.

    Also, Stress test the CPU. It saves the result as a .txt file in the prime95's folder. Upload the file for us.

    Let us know the results.

    I have updated the bios to the latest version. I have also ran the prime 95 for 2 hours temps and test went well. I have also found out that this computer seems to have had this issue with the bluescreen, when the client logs off the computer and closes the lid. When they come back to the computer they push the power button and windows starts to resuming then bluescreens. I am going to try and replicate this to see if I can get it to do the same now that the bios is updated.

    The stress test passed. Good news.

    Well, Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus and the touchpad driver.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept then restart.

    Then enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers; and then close the lid. Then wake it up. Do it a few times if it does not cause a BSOD at once.

       Information
    Why Driver Verifier:
    It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

    How Can we know that DV is enabled:
    It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

       Warning
    Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

    If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

       Tip

    Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.
