    Computer too slow after installation

Hi, I downloaded Window updates and it made my com crash and so I reformatted and reinstalled Wind 7 Home Premium.

Now, my com is functioning very slowly. I do not know if it is the ram or the hard drive that's at fault. How do i isolate each device to determine which is the one that's making my computer function so slowly?

    Thanks.

Posting your system specs would help us out a lot. Have you defragged your hard drive lately?

Alrights. Let me explain my problem in detail followed by my specs.

After downloading and installing windows updates for june, my com refused to start. It would start up, initiate the repair manager (or something similar to that name), run its course and restart and repeat all over again.

In desperation, I reformatted the 1tb western digital hard drive with Win 7 Home Premium. This failed to work so it got me thinking perhaps it was the hardware problem.

I reinstalled the OS on another drive and I could log in so I thought it's the western digital 1tb drive problem. But now my win 7 is loading very slowly. Running more than 2 programs at one time makes the whole com freeze. Also, it takes about fifteen to twenty seconds for the program to open after clicking it.

    My specs are:
    Geforce GT220
    Win 7 32-bit
    4 gig ram.
    core 2 duo e8400

not too sure what other specs you need. please advise? Thanks

Please test your hard drive: HD Diagnostic

Also, open a command prompt and enter chkdsk /r.

What is your Windows Experience Index score? Could you post a screenshot?
