Ha well neither one Mbam or sas free provide real time protection,
Mbam pro is still available which is a one time cost of about 50.00 u.s.
If you get it on Mbam's site they sell a subscription that's every year like other utilities
Do a search or go to Newegg/ TigerDirect... and see if Mbam pro is still there it's well worth the one time payment,
    Cheers.

Well, so far Panda is doing good. It detected 1 threat on the 8.1 computer (again? I don't know why) but thankfully it removed that threat.

Okay. It didn't say what the threat was. It just says it removed it. Also, now every time I close IE on the 8.1, it says IE crashed, Windows is checking for a solution, and will notify me when the solution is found.

Just run the scanner and post the scan results as a .txt Text attachment we'll have a look,

Usually after a corruption you'll need to reset ie,
Export Favorites to html file before resetting Internet explorer/ just to be safe.
