It says it is model no. KAWF0 and has windows home premium. It also has the product key but I won't put that in. And I have tried F8 but not F10. What does f10 do and I would be very happy if you could tell me how to reinstall

I had a look at f10 and it said partion : 3 and windows/system32/winloader.exe. This might be a way to reinstall but I don't know. Anything that might work I will try

Download and burn to CD or write to flash stick Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper, boot it to run a full scan.

If you have a Win7 Repair CD then you need to be able to boot it to try Startup Repairs. How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD or DVD - Boot to CD

What happens when you try tapping the F12 key at boot to access the BIOS Boot Menu? Can you boot CD drive that way? Are you given the prompt to "Press any key to boot CD?" If not, try burning another Repair CD using ImgBurn at 4x speed with Verify.

Startup Repair should automate System Restore and System File checker. But if it fails after three attempts, enter the Repair Recovery options to run System Restore manually, then open a Command Prompt to run SFC -SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot.

If these attempts fail, you can copy out your files using Repair CD: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Then run Acer Factory Recovery from boot or order Acer Recovery Disks: Acer Support: Recovery media and Restoring a system to factory load

Or find a Win7 installation DVD for your version to clean reinstall with Product Key on COA sticker: Reinstalling Windows 7

    Oh geez..

I've seen a couple of machines do this before. There is a chance of recovery, sometimes it can just be an awful std that is making Windows crash during boot.

Download Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10.0.29.6 Free - A safe way to remove viruses from a computer without the risk of getting infected - Softpedia

Please, I recommend downloading and burning this onto a disk if at all possible. Then put the disk into the laptop and boot off from that disk. If you have internet running, make sure to update the databases if possible. If there's a chance to repair an installation and not do a full reinstall, I'd always go for that before taking the next step of reinstalling.

I would try the repair steps first to see if you can salvage your installation.

We are not allowed to link to Win7 ISO downloads here as it encourages piracy. You can search for Official Win7 downloads at My Digital Life.
