My new ssd not recognised in setup of w7 but IS seen in bioS
It's a hp pavilion elite m9652uk. Getting really frustrated. I'm installing from USB with Sata drivers on them but they don't help!

Hello mm2222, and welcome to Seven Forums.
Double check using the tutorial below to make sure that you are loading the SATA drivers during setup.
SATA Driver - Load in Windows 7 or Vista Setup
Hope this helps, :)

I believe I have done that, I must possibly have the incorrect ones I.e I install them and the drive doesn't show
Could be.
Does the SSD show up in Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc) when connected in another computer?
Did you format the SSD first? It could be RAW and offline, and why it's not showing up.
I'd say run the "Clean" command on the SSD. Afterwards, see if the SSD shows up during installation as an "unallocated" disk to select to install Windows on.
It's showing up as disk 0 unallocated space 55.9gb, what now?
If that is during setup, then you could just select it to install Windows 7 on like at step 8 in the tutorial below. :)
