Mouse lag even after reformatting- sfc /scannow log

Hi guys... wasnt sure which section to post this. hopefully this one will do.
I'm on a dell inspiron zino hd... windows 7 64 bit

I had the google redirect virus.. tried removing it myself through different methods.. still remained, so I decided to back up all my things and just reformat and reinstall.
yesterday I did a dell factory image restore though, instead of doing a OS re-installation using my windows 7 disc, entering my product key etc (probably should have...)

long story short: my mouse is lagging. i should note it started to lag before i did the factory restore also. at that point i figured it was just the virus/malware.

but it's still here and driving me crazy. i googled and poked around the forums- following different advice to no avail. i performed all of the dell hardware diagnostic tests- passed them.

I've done sfc /scannow 3+ times. tells me there are corrupt files but are unable to fix them. log shows:

2012-08-09 15:48:26, Info CSI 00000200 [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:20{10}]"tcpmon.ini" of Microsoft-Windows-Printing-StandardPortMonitor-TCPMonINI, Version = 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch

would reinstalling the OS with my disc fix this? i'm no good at this kind of stuff, but i'm trying. so any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hello thehoneybee221, welcome to Seven Forums!

As it seems you have a Windows 7 install disk, take your tine and study the info presented below, this may be the best bet to get a fresh start and ask if you have any further question.

       Information

As a start and to rule out format errors up front, boot the Windows 7 installation media to diskpart and run the clean command, once the clean finishes, exit diskpart and use the Windows 7 installer to create and format a single 100GB partition to do the install to.

If that does't work, after another clean, use diskpart to create, format and mark Active a single 100GB partition to see if that works, use Step #2 in the SSD/HDD tutorial for reference.

Once the clean finishes, exit diskpart and use the Windows 7 installer to create and format a single 100GB partition to do the install to and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

After you have copied out or made back-ups of the data you need to external media and want to start fresh with a clean installation or clean install with an upgrade version of Windows 7 have a look through the information below and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

It may be a help to over-write the HDD Master Boot Record (MBR) before you start any other procedure using the diskpart clean command, rather than the clean all; it takes just seconds to complete so you will have "unallocated" space to use either the Windows installer to create and format the partition(s) or use diskpart to create them, however you choose.
If you want to completely wipe / over-write the entire Hard Disk Drive of any possible format errors, malware infection, for security purposes or just to get the best possible place to install Windows to, have a look at these tutorials.

thanks for the info. i will try this. but first i have to admit, i don't know how to do half of this..

for example- the first part. what is diskpart? and to create and format a single 100gb partition... how? lol i'm sorry. i just dont know about this stuff. can you explain how? also, for my own curiosity, why create a new partition?

    thanks.

    Hello again.

I was concerned some of this would be too advanced; the reason to start this is to completely over-write the virus you encountered, a simple delete/format removes nothing.

let's take this one step at a time, start with this, it's very easy taken like this.

       Note

boot the Windows 7 installation media to diskpart and run the clean command, once the clean finishes, exit diskpart and use the Windows 7 installer to create and format a single 100GB partition to do the install to.

    Start with this tutorial ...
once in diskpart, type clean and hit enter, it only takes seconds to complet.
then start a clean install from this tutorial and you can use the installer to create a 100GB partition or let the installer use all the available space to do the install to.

We'll pick it up from here, if I'm not available to help I'm sure someone else will help.
