got board back and installed and all works, except...and i'm most likely not doing something right. i have a second hdd in my system. when i go to my computer, it only shows the 1 hdd that my os is on which is win7. how do i make this show up?
Add hardware did nothing. If I right click properties on the drive i see, then go to all disk drives properties, it's listed there and states device is working properly. it's like it was not assigned a drive letter. perhaps this was screwed up with the mobo exchange. please advise. oh, and i did try all my dimm slots for memory and all is working.

**unless of course, it has something to do with a slave issue, in which I see jumper pins in the back, but the brand new drive never came with a jump thingy. drive is a 2T Samsung 204UI

Does the drive show up in BIOS? Does it show up in disk management? Is there data on it, was it ever formated? If its a SATA drive there is no master slave jumper, only one drive per cable/channel.

in bios, this drive does show up, but strangley enough, not the drive that my os is on, which I'm currently running as I type this. disk management, uh I belive i answered that, both drives are showing up. no data on it, brand new, never formatted. i must not be doing something correctly. (disk management?)
