How do you change line spacing in Windows Live Mail? I would like to use single spacing even when I don't type to the end of the line. What I find is it uses single spacing if you type to the end of the line but if you hit return it double spaces. I would like to be able to control when it double spaces and when it single spaces.

I am using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit system.

As Enter / Return means a paragraph line break, paragraph change, I do not believe you can change this setting in WLM. Use Soft Enter instead (press Shift+Enter) to get a normal line break without paragraph change.

Soft Enter (or Soft return) works with almost any application that lets you type.

Thanks, Kari -- that works! It is amazing how aggrevating something like that can be!

What a great bit of information! This really helped this non-programmer to solve a WLM e-sig issue.

Thank you!!!

To get single spacing, I have found the remedy (although you cannot go back to double spacing).
On Windows Live Mail, to get single spacing: If you are in HTML mode (you are able to change the font family and size), then click on the label 'Plain text' (you will get the ‘you will lose any current formatting...’ advisory), click 'OK' and then click immediately on the new 'Rich text (HTML)'.
If you are in text mode (cannot change fonts) and you want HTML, then click 'Rich text (HTML)'. If this is the first time, you may have to do this again – Plain text/Rich text. But, I cannot check this.
Great for new email, but as it says, if you already have formatted text, you will lose the formatting (not the text).
However, once you do this, as far as I can figure, you lose the ability to go back to double spacing.
Microsoft: Is it possible to add a direct single/double space option. :-)

Kari, you solved my problem as well -- "soft enter" (Shift + enter) -- was trying to get just a regular break between a bulleted list, not a huge break

thanks!
