Hello!
any feedback with the bsod info yet? or does it take some time?
sorry I have no idea how long this take
thanks
I need a minidump file for this, it sounds like a driver conflict.
two steps so we can generate a minidump
To ensure minidumps are enabled:
Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header
Select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.
then enable driver verifier
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
(Please read all instructions for driver verifier before using as it's possible it will make the machine behave badly and you need to know how to undo it.)
Vlad,
Ask and you shall receive. You've got some excellent help.
I'd like to emphasize the reading of the instructions on the use of driver verifier.
Verifier can really put you in what looks like a hopeless state, if you don't know the simple thing of booting into safe mode and running verifier /reset
Thank you! I've enabled Verifier now. I will report back as soon as I get a bsod.
lol it would only take one minidump for me to get most if not all the relevant info I need to go on.
It just the easiest way to get a list of the drivers installed on a system.
I honestly expected him to crash right away with DV enabled...
Anyhow some common apps that cause trouble for people
daemon tools
Asus probe/utilities suite.
AVG
AVAST!

Vlad,
run cmd.exe and then run driverquery
You might want to make that driverquery > driverlist.txt
Now you can WIN | click on your account name (right under your icon) |
double-click on driverlist.txt
That driver list is probably of no interest to you but rather to someone looking to spot an out-of-date driver, for example.
