I have a Dell Studio XPS 8000 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. In March the PC started to BSOD every time a USB storage device was connected to it. Other USB devices like mouse or keyboard did not cause this problem. It happens with two different external hard drives and 7 different USB flash drives regardless of which USB port is used.
I tried to do a restore but the we only had two restore points, both after we started having this problem.
We have backed up all our data to another PC via network connection, before reinstalling Windows I thought perhaps someone on this forum would have some suggestions. I already went through the tutorial and tried the uninstalling the grayed out USB devices, four times with no change.
I have downloaded and run the SF utility as described, results are zipped up in the attached.
I also include a photo of the BSOD.
thanks
