Got a BSOD during system restore and now I can't boot
I did a system restore and in the middle of it I got a blue screen. When the system restarted I got a black screen with a cursor and nothing else. No log-on screen.
I'm using Windows 7 and it infuriates me that it doesn't offer any kind of repair install like XP does. I've had nothing but endless problems ever since upgrading to this crappy OS. I tried startup repair which failed. When trying to use system restore from that menu, it failed with an application error of rstrui.exe.
So basically:
I can't do startup repair because my system technically boots even if it doesn't start up right so startup repair recognizes the boot as successful.
I can't do sfc /scannow because a system restore that will never complete is pending.
I can't do a repair install because it will only let me do that from the desktop which I cannot get to.
Please, what do I do?
