Windows XP sp3.. freezing after updating Malwarebytes yesterday

I'm not sure where to post this.. something has caused a huge mess on my Windows XP..
.it must have been malwarebytes.. upgraded today...
I can't even get to anything on it at all..
I've had to do hard shut downs trying to get back to my desktop to uninstall it.. no luck...
it jumps on my taskbar next to AVAST.. then everything freezes.
Help plz.
I'm using my laptop to post this now.

I can't do anything on W-XP screen after I rebooted it.. after A VERY HARD SHUT DOWN using the start button.

I already have Chrome on my desktop.. W-XP
I'll try to get it to run after I reboot W-XP again... when that malwarebyte icon appears.. everything stops dead.

You will probably need to get into Safe Mode and delete the Malwarebytes.

I'm not sure which Key for XP or your PC. It could be F8 but I'm not sure.

I sent Dennis a PM. He recently had to fix his sons HP. So he may remember the exact what, where, whens and keys.

How can I delete Malwayerbytes after I get in safe mode ?

I'll go try to get in safe mode on W-XP..by rebooting.
I'll try anything to get something to work again on it.

On restart hit (tap repeatedly) F8 or F11 till the reboot has completed.

Usually F8 on HP.

Safe mode only loads basic drivers. So screen resolution will possibly be a bit fuzzy but usable.
You should then be able to go uninstall Malwarebytes.
It should not be running in safe mode causing a problem.

If it were my system I would get the free

Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
scroll down page till you see download under the free version.

Then remove malware software
I am not a fan of Avast.....I use MSE AV which is free also. Have had no problems with that and upgrades with Malware stuff.

Once you removed Malware then do a normal start up and then if pc running ok then download Malware again.
I am not a certified tech and my fee's are cheap....wolf cookies and milk.
Let us know how it is going.

dennis I have revo un-installer setting on my desktop now ... W-Xp..
this has nothing to do with my virus protection. .. lol ..

It's all about the upgrade today with Malwarebytes. I've never had my whole desktop to freeze before when I cannot get to anything there or my tool bar where my clock and PROGRAMS ARE RUNNING UNTIL TODAY.
SO FAR NOTHING HAS WORKED TO GET ME Moving again..

M'Lady, you say you boot to safe mode, but then launch Windows Media Center. Why launch Windows Media Center? I'd boot to safe mode, and see if I can use a System Restore Point from before this started. If that allows you to get back to normal, I'd uninstall MalwareBytes for now. Just to see if everything works ok for a while. A Guy
