This is getting tiresome. First and most importantly; I sincerely do thank all of you for trying to help. I truly mean this. Thank you for the effort—sincerely.
I’m not looking for a way to put a film border around a thumbnail, I’m not looking for a picture manager, and the preview pane is not, “the same thing.” 3D and 2D art is a hobby I take serious. As far a photo managers go, XnView is as close as I can get to what I want. But it is kind of useless to have a program that opens folders for me. I want to be able to open the folder and use it like I could in XP.
Here is the problem I am having with Windows 7. (The Filmstrip View) that was featured in XP is not available in Windows 7. What I liked and needed and used (The Filmstrip View) for was — I could double click on a folder that contained my art, open a folder, see it, organize it, select a image and the right click and open it with a program.
Bottom Line — I want to be able to open a folder containing my art and see it as I could in the XP Filmstrip View.
I understand your frustration however you may not be able to do this in Windows 7 without 3rd party software. If Microsoft removed it then it is gone.
Here is one more 3rd party that may give you what you want: www.irfanview.com
Sorry if that does not help.
