But why then does PB work in W7 with COD2, COD WAW?
I still think it has to do with ordering the download directly from Ubisoft -- I would bet there is a copy-protection scheme that doesn't paly nice with W7.
After trying to install Far Cry 1 numerous times on my new build, with win7 64-bit, I got an idea. I would take my external HDD, hook it up to one of my other, older 32-bit systems and install it to that. After installing the game from the 32 bit system, I plugged the external HDD back into my 64-bit system and it played fine. So I then transfered the UBI Soft file (FarCry) from the external drive to my internal drive on the 64-bit system. It has worked like a charm. To play the game after you have done the above steps you have to manually navigate to the games Launch icon. Go to where ever you installed the game on yor HDD. Navigate to the UBI Soft file thenfrom there you go to Crytek_Far Cry_Bin 32_Far Cry. Hope this helps.
I did. I think the disc I purchased was missing a file. I think it had to do with installing the game to a 64-bit O.S. There were other Far Cry 1 disc's sold with the same problem. Ghostbusters (the game) had the same issue, at least the one I bought did. I installed Ghostbusters the same way and it worked perfectly.
