Hello everyone,
I have a Windows 7 and I installed Half Life 2, but when I launch the game it says Available memory less than 128MB. This is really strange because I can play Need for Speed Shift perfectly.
Can someone please help me out. Thanks.
I am assuming you are running 64 bit win7 as this error (after searching google with your error) everyone who complained about it had 64bit vista or win 7.
NONE OF THE SOURCE GAMES WORK IN 64bit!!!
1.) Compatibility mode:
Right click on the executible (of the game w/ error in steam), choose properties, compability, mark the Run this program in compability mode for:, choose Windows XP SP2. This is in steam/steamapps/yourusername/name of game/hl2.exe
2.) Make sure source is installed in c:/Programs Files (x86)/steam/... as no source game will run in 64 bit mode.
3.) go here
YouTube - Half-life 2, Gmod 1-10, Counter stike error message fix! ( Windows ) this guy lists off a ton of things you can try to fix this issue. They all looked like valid possible fixes to me.
Every computer environment is different and can bring the same issues for different reasons so, either trouble shoot the issue by trying this stuff or take it in to a professional computer repair shop.
PS
This is a software issue in 99% of the cases. So do not go and buy or download all these rip off scam memory testing programs and start messing with your hardware. If another game and other prog's still work it's obviously not a memory issue in itself.
For virus protection I recommend the free one that Microsoft has available for download, IT's the shiznit!! They actually did something right, or bought this good company and haven't screwed up their software yet.
