Deleted Folders Or Folders That Have Been Renamed Still Show
Hello,
I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and I am ecountering a very weird problem.
I have a folder on my Desktop that I created called "My Travel Shots" that contains several folders inside of it. These sub folders within "My Travel Shots" contain .jpg files.
I can rename or delete these sub folders and they appear to be renamed or deleted.
HOWEVER!!.... When I use Internet Explorer and I am on a website where I can upload my photos.... I encounter a very strange thing!!
When I browse to my desktop folder "My Travel Shots" to select the pictures I want to upload, I can see all my deleted sub folders. I also can see the sub folders with their old names, along with the sub folders that have their new names.
For example... today I renamed a sub folder "Italy01" into "Italy June 2010".
When I was on a website where I was going to upload my photos... I used Internet Explorer to browse to "My Travel Shots" where I could see both the "Italy01" and "Italy June 2010" as subfolders, when I really only should be seeing, "Italy June 2010".
It's like Internet Explorer is seeing folders that are no longer there!! And clicking on these ghost folders even shows the .jpg files inside!!!
Refreshing the folders view when I am in Internet Explorer and even rebooting the machine doesn't fix this problem.
I also have deleted my Temporary Internet Files, and even applied the folders "hotfix" that I found on Microsoft's Website, but it doesn't seem to resolve the problem either.
I've also scanned for viruses but nothing was found even in safe mode.
Should I try rebuilding the index? Or should I do an image restore of my computer?
I have had this folder on my desktop for a year and have had no problems until now. I am always constantly renaming and deleting the sub folders inside of it and never encountered any problems until this week when I did some Windows Updates, so I'm baffled as to what is causing the problem.
BTW, I am the only person who operates my computer and I am operating it as an Administrator.
