erm I love it I'm having my first ever problem with windows 7RC which is great and I feel that this is going to be the best OS from Microsoft well except for xp of course :) but so far it beat XP IMHO
only thing so far thats buggin me is the HD icons in the devices & printers folder, whilst it was a nice touch by microsoft it kinda misses the point when you have 2/3 HD icons surrounded by defaults.. whilst not entirely microsofts liability, surely more commonplace items like ipods should be supported, i also think that PPC'S running WINDOWS mobile certainly should.. instead i get an ugly picture of a blue modem for my phone even tho in device manager my phone shows as a windows mobile based device.. go figure.. my monitor i can accept tho and will certainly be doing a "custom" job on the default icon as i dont believe T.v's will ever support this feature.. Then we come to my mouse.. HD icon worked with one of the earlier versions (of Win7) but not anymore.. so for that i may try and drag an drop from a VPC..
Since the RTM just happened, it's not surprising that not everything fully supports Win 7 yet. In fact it's surprising as much works as well as it does at this point in time. By October, I suspect most or all these little glitches (that involve 3rd party support issues) will be resolved.
Outdated? Well, most of the industri is outdated. When I was a kid in the 60's and 70's then when we saw science fiction about year 2000, then we all walk around in silver-clothes, we have robots, to wash our cars, make our dinner, cleaning the house, and some special robots to take care of our sexlife.
In reallity, all we got is a robot vacuum cleaner, that is not very good at cleaning, and it hurts if it has to take care of my sexlife .
Other than that, I hate that I have the green squares in the bootscreen instead of the new "orb", that nobody seems to be able to solve, and I know I'm not the only one with this problem.
I might be odd, but I don't like, that Outlook Express don't come along Windows 7. Windows live mail, is a big slow program compared to it. WLM can do a lot more tahn OE, but I don't need that! I want my OE back.

does it suck at its job?
(no, i didn't actually type that...someone else did, honest)
After a hard day it's amazing the relaxing effect I get LOLing in threads like this, especially when it jumps way off topic.
Prefetch / Superfetch
A choice of what to cache to RAM would be nice. Superfetch caches Excel, Powerpoint ie. rarely used apps so that's 'great use' of *my* RAM Microsoft. NOT. The result is foreground apps and a desktop that feels and looks slow and sluggish.
Windows "Classic" Mode for business
All business users want is a Windows XP Classic Mode look and feel, and Aero hurts my eyes.
Windows Explorer Lack of innovation!
Dual pane anyone?
The horrid sliding green-bar of death!
Where did ALT-ENTER to get file/folder properties goto?
Windows Explorer Preview of JPGs zoom is pixilated!
XP icons are replaced by 'words' ...dumbing down Windows!
Explorer navigation "+ signs" dissapear making nagivation frustrating
Give us back Windows XP Explorer which was perfect!
Free disk space avilable at status bar would have been nice similar to XP!
Now all you get is "6 items" and a pretty icon
Get rid of the 'organize' open print burn new folder, replace with icon bar!
Windows Live Mail and applications in general
More difficult to see/view due to excessive eye candy. OE in XP was perfect. Excessive AERO can cause eye strain!
Network icon in desktop tray
Used to be nice and simple, so Microsoft go all out to complicate things
What once took 1 - 2 steps now takes 3
Control Panel Mess
Summary of Control Panel options complicates things
Show Desktop
Now resides way over the right side of the screen WTF!?!?
Windows 7 SKU's
Professional for business, HOME for well HOME ...go with what worked, huh?
Windows Media Player
Scans your USB keys when it plays VERY ANNOYING
Summary
Even Win7 RTM performance still feels 'bloated' and slower than XP ...
Microsoft controlling YOUR PC rather than you being at the wheel
Dumbing down the OS ... icons replaced by text. SHSH.
Overall: Microsoft still haven't got it right let alone developed a decent OS since Windows XP SP2!
