Windows keeps freezing constantly after getting new harddrive
Hi all, hoping I can get some help with a problem I've had for some time now. My harddrive crashed about a year ago on my Lenovo. I was able to pull all my files with the Lenovo recovery and they sent me a new harddrive since it was still under warranty. I installed the harddrive and re-installed Windows. I've never installed any hardware before, so don't know if I messed anything up, but it seemed pretty straight forward.
Since then, my Windows will freeze randomly almost every single time I use the laptop. I mostly use it for general personal stuff - web browsing, Excel, photos, etc. It tends to happen more when using a web browser, but still happens when doing anything and everything else. I'll get anywhere from a few minutes to an hour of use before it freezes, with it averaging at about 15-20 minutes.
(Edited) I've tried to make sure my Windows updates are current, but there is one update that keeps failing to install - "WindowsUpdate_800B0100". Also, I believe I tried to make sure all my drivers were updated last time I tried to fix this, but haven't done so since. If that's something I should do, I'd appreciate help on the proper way to do that.
One other thing, I started getting this message at Windows startup:Run DLLNot sure if this is related or not, but I think this started popping up after I was first having the freezing issues, so it was freezing even before the Run DLL error.
There was a problem starting
C:\Users\FLYINF~1\AppData\Local\Temp\pnetoc.dll
This specific module could not be found
I also ran the SFC scan according to the directions on here, and it did not find any issues.
I haven't filled in all my specs, but let me know if I should do that or if it doesn't matter. Thanks for any help!
