Does anyone know how to stop Help and Support from automatically running when starting windows 7. I have 3 win7 systems and it is only happening on one of them.
Checked all the regular locations like startup and msconfig startup items.

Thanks

Go into msconfig and check if it's added in the startup.

As I mentioned in my post I tried checking msconfig startup items. Nothing there.

Look at task scheduler, it may be scheduled to start every time you start Win 7.

Solved this on my own. Turns out it was a startup item. I installed an old legacy application called IBM Iseries Access It adds a bunch of stuff to the startup. One of them Client access express welcome"C:\Program Files\IBM\Client Access\cwbwlwiz.exe" was launching the help file. Go figure.
Thanks everyone:D

I am building an image for my work and it is one of the legacy apps we use to connect with AS400 systems. That wonderful dos like green screen stuff. :D
I was hoping SAP would have killed it but we still use it.

Cheers!!

What change did you make to correct this problem. I'm having the same problem.

I came here looking for just this solution. I too have an IBM application installed due to office work and this start up pop up is annoying.

Can anyone guide on how to remove this?

Yes, the link is to a post in the same thread. I was asking if you had noticed that solution as posted by the person that started this thread. From your answer, I'll assume that you have the same item in one of the start up folders.

One way to remove it is to...
...click on the Start button
...and then All Programs.
Scroll to the folder named Startup...
...and click on that.
Right click on the item to be removed...
...and select Delete from the context menu.

Just necroing a thread to confirm. Same thing for us here. IBM Client Access is still in use around these parts - it's a terminal emulator for AS400.

Removing that item from startup stopped Help and Support from popping up.

Thanks!
