Loading OS Without CD or Support, to wiped HDD.
2017/05May/30Tue/23:00h prox. Loading OS Without CD or Support,to wiped HDD.
I bought computers from the government, BC Auctions:
(3) HP desktops;
(1) Lenovo laptop; and
(1) Lenovo desktop.
The gummint wipes their computers' hard drives, before they sell the units.Thoughthe units have the stickers with the product key, they have no operating systems (OS) or CD.I need to download OS for them.
Beginning with the Lenovo desktop,I started asearch for 'loading OS without CD'. I tried a Windows website, but got, "Error. The product key you entered appears to be for software pre-installed by the device manufacturer. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options.”
I spent hours, fighting Lenovo's site, which seems designed to protect them from enquiries, including their dead-end, "Contact" sham. After struggling through their jungle, I ended with some statement that they don't have support for this unit. Clicking on their "forum" buttondidn’t go anywhere, either. Their site seems set up, mainly, as a 'Peasant-blocker'. "What? Can't afford to order new? Then, GO AWAY!"
How can I load a CD or memory stick with the OS, to reload the “Windows 7 Pro OA”that was originally installed, without the cooperation of the 'Customer Disservice'at Microsoft or Lenovo?
