Solved What are you're Cpu and System Temps ?

The PC is kind of loud because of the Zalman fan, so I set a manual temperature for the GPU.

Ran Everest's CPU stress test for almost 2 1/2 hours and the CPU never hit 60c.



@Kenard..my Zalman 9700 is barely audible even at full speed.

You must have an AMD processsor. On some of them the readings are useless.

I replaced my TIM and am running the CPU stress test again. So far, it hasn't gone above 45c! Must have used too must compound first time.

Maybe it could be my PC case, it's the Cooler Master G LiTE. I'm using the Zalman CNPS9500, I think I should try another one of those with a higher number.

my gosh tweek those are low does really using to much thermal paste do that i used alot i also had to wipe a little off the board which you have to be really carefull

other then that if it doesnt go that high hell you're golden brother but if it isn't heating up when doing stressfull apps i would think something was wrong too no matter how much paste or fans stress test always bare different results

I don't think it is you're case intel just runs hot period My old p4 no matter how much cleaning and keeping it cool it would get really hot it got to the point i had to take the side panel off and leave it off

Im useing the same case as i had my p4 as you can tell my temps dont even get near where my intel had me so i wouldnt think it was the case it is just one hot chip

Not too mention that it is physically impossible for the CPU to be running at less than ambient temperature when using air cooling.

LiquidSnak what temps does it show in the bios? Not one of my favorites but have you tried Asus Probe to see what it shows?

Well how i did it i just put atleast 30% paste for the heatsink and cpu 30% meaning i put a nice size glob in the middle sat my heatsink on and kinda moved it in place to make sure it was tight thats why i had a little paste drip to the board but other then that i have had no problems im all air fan cooled

liquid temps are much different obviously

Unless I missed it, you haven't posted any temps under load (?) Idle temps tell you nothing.

ok tweek im up for it I will do a load test and give you the temps with apps running i posted idle temps on cooling yes so if you want me to show on load i will you will have to wait till atleast monday morning though

Like I said earlier. Idle temps don't mean much. Really need to see your temps at full load. That's the only true indication of how well your cooler is functioning.

btw..those are very high especially for a H50

Yeah, I know. I'm in a very small room with little ventilation...plus I need to blow the dust out of my comp. I'm probably going to end up going in and reseating the H50, plus adding another fan for push pull. Under load, I get up around 80-85 with Prime95, so something isn't right.

Yeah definitely something isn't right. I'd replace the compound as well.

Ceramique is a great one, as is arctic silver. Thin, even layers are the ticket. BIOS agrees with HWmonitor and SpeedFan about CPU temps. I'll hit it with my IR thermometer later when I have the gumption to dig it out of my tool kit.
