SO we removed Office XP from Control Panel, and did an install of office 2007.

Now the user is saying that they had a .pst file. So when I went to add the pst file it isn't there anymore. All that is there is a .ost file from office xp, since the icon looks like the office xp.

Is there anything I can do here to recover the file?

I find it hard to believe that the .pst was magically deleted when I uninstalled Office XP.

Thanks,

I don't have Office 2007 installed on my computer so can't try this out but try searching in this location if you've not already tried, I think you'll need to tick the Show hidden files, folders and drives option in Organize > Folder and search options > View to gain access to these folders & files in Windows 7.

File path:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\

No, removing Office shouldn't touch the .pst file.

If not already done, maybe try & do a Windows Search using *.pst

See what that brings up.
