Office 2007 Install Updates and Activation?

I need to reinstall my OS, which is actually and Upgrade from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. First off I'm worried that Activation will not go smoothly. And I cannot believe I didn't download and backup all the Office 2007 Updates for future use! This is by far the best program I've ever used and I still love it over all else, always have and always will.

My only alternative is the old Office programs 2002 or 2003 or LibreOffice, yuck! I don't have the money to pay for an Office Suite right now and don't like the new ones anyhow. Can someone tell me how this may go in 2022. I don't want to bugger up my new install once I get going on it. So Licensing and Updates are my two biggest worries I guess. I suppose the updates are not a deal breaker but I don't even know if it will Activate?

Also, where to get legit Product Keys? I suppose that is like buying gold right now and many scammers abound? A friend bought one and it was no good.

I'm going to post this on Tenforums too, hope that is okay with the Mods?

I think I found what I needed but will have to look at some of the threads here to copy the .cab files to the right place.

Had to install an Office product the other day on a used W7Pro computer. I have an Office 2007 Enterprise edition. No problem. Haven't tried for any updates but used the one built with SP3. All I wanted was Word 2007. Also have an W7Pro Enterprise O/S, however, the machine i'm using is an OEM version (W7P) so I was good too good. Haven't gotten around to using Simplix or the like....

If you have Office 2007 still installed there are programs you can get to retrieve the Product Key. In case you don't know it make sure you retrieve it before you reinstall Windows.

A couple years ago someone gave me an old laptop that they bought for $1 at an auto salvage yard. The laptop wouldn't power on so I pulled the drive from it. I put the drive in an external enclosure and used a program I had to extract the Product Keys from the the drive for Windows 7 Home and Office 2007 Standard. The hardest part was to get the install files for them. I used these keys to activate both Windows 7 and Office 2007.

Note I installed these last summer so you shouldn't have a problem doing that now. BTW, last summer I even installed and activated Office 2003 Pro on a computer.

There are several places to download SP3 for Office 2007. Here are three of them:

Thanks guys, yes I have my Product Keys and am looking forwards to seeing if I have another install left on it. Pulled my Product Keys years ago. I'm actually running Windows 10 Pro on a license from Windows 7 Pro on a Windows 8 machine.

my Office 2010 install has hit max 3. hence new install wouldn't be activated even with Product Key. Office 2007 activation should be similar.

my solution is to swap OS using Paragon. at 1st start run, Microsoft warning pop-up, then Microsoft checked new hardware settings, finally passed and activated.

Since then you can upgrade to Win 10/11 whatever you please. btw, Office2007/2010 both are running fine on Win 10/11 OS.

Your solution sounds convoluted.
I have:
  • Office 2007 Professional
  • Office 2007 Standard
  • Office 2010 Professional
They have been reinstalled multiple times and are all activated. Whenever I had a problem with Internet or phone activation I just call Microsoft. They were always glad to help me get my software activated.

BTW, when I checked the EULA for these versions of Office I found that I could install them on both a desktop and laptop at the same time. That saved me a lot of money. Unfortunately, newer releases of Office don't allow that.

That must be awhile ago :D
Microsoft stopped support of Office2007/2010 years. No phone call supports years. If Office 2013, you can get phone call support.

btw, Office 2010 is last non-cloud Office. Since Office 2013, the Office goes cloud and sounds much slower. In my recent running time test, Office 2010 is best/fastest one. beating Office 2013/16 Office 365.

Whenever I had a problem with Internet or phone activation I just call Microsoft. They were always glad to help me get my software activated.

I have installed and activated Office 2003 and Office 2007 this year. If needed I called Microsoft to help with activation. I even called Microsoft to help activate Windows XP and Windows 7 a few months ago. The agent treated these calls like any other.

These other people gave up after Internet activation and phone activation didn't work. I guess they didn't think of calling Microsoft customer support and talking to a live person. That's what I did. Did you think of calling Microsoft customer support and asking for help? Of course there is no guarantee that they will be able to help you. What do you have to lose?

BTW, if you call Microsoft customer support be calm and act professional. People are more willing to help you if you do that.

Unbelievable,
your suggestion is working. Office 2010 re-activated. Microsoft must be in holiday mode.
(most Americans would stop in front of IP warning. That's how IP laws work in USA)
