- What is the age of system (hardware)? HD>1yr, else 5+yrs
- What is the age of OS installation? >1yr
- All other specs within my profile

I wonder if you guys can point me in the right direction:

I constantly get a BSOD with no consistency to explain the reasoning,
This also happened while the box ran Vista
Ultimate and XP Media Centre some time back.
Over time I have swapped out Hard Drives, CPU's and memory (MOBO is stock not clocked)...

I'm getting to the stage of looking for a heavy hammer so any help would be appreciated..

Sorry but no DMP file included please try this method

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Start your own thread in the appropriate section of the forum and attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

Quick question.. does your system shut down as if someone had pulled the plug out of the socket or does it just freeze? Chances are what you're seeing is the result of a nearly overtaxed PSU as a result of an aging system that's probably drawing 40%-50% more power than it did when it was new, even if nothing has been upgraded except the HDD.

....Sorry? I followed the instructions as per "Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions"....

I have navigated into my C:\Windows\Minidump and all but two *.dmp files have gone, suggesting the Windows_NT6_BSOD_v3.03_jcgriff2_.exe file I used from the posted instructions has used/removed them??? As suggested, I have attached my remaining *.dmp files in this reply.

Please let me (and jcgriff2) know if I am posting incorrectly - I have simply followed instruction..

Many thanks - Martin

thank you for your suggestion. The box does indeed freeze from time to time however, mostly I get the BSOD - I also loose connectivity to USB attachments from time to time (iPod, Flash memory, external drives).

I'm looking at a new motherboard at the moment, that and the PSU are the only things I haven't swapped out... unless my posting can suggest something better (and cheaper).. Martin

Don't worry, you did everything right. No dumps are there to be collected, probably because they have been deleted by CCleanner.

Start by removing CCleaner, for that reason.

Next, remove AVG, with this tool: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/avg_arm_sup_____.dir/avgremover.exe

Replace it with MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

Password Safe is also having troubles. Could you also remove that for now?

Post back here after CCleaner, AVG, and Password Safe are gone, and after you get a couple more BSODs. Run the jcgriff2 utility again, and we'll see what else we can find.

Update - Just installed a "Corsair TX650W" from eBuyer, very impressed! The machine doesn't sound like it's running and, I haven't had a BSOD yet! Thanks again to everyone involved !
