Hi to all gamers.I just got this game and enjoy it allot, but my pc struggles to get over 50 fps.In the bar or a crowded place it drops to 29 fps,and in the village or bush it runs at around 35-40 fps.I get 50fps if i look at the sky or its in a cave or a very open spot(field). But mostly is runs at around 35fps

All settings are at max,and running 1920x1080p.

Just wan't to know what other gamers are getting,it seems very low.but the game still runs smoothly.

Sometimes it's not the matter of your system specs, but the game engine and optimization... If you really care about FPS, lower down some settings. Haven't played Gothic 4 (yet), I'm having second throughts about buying it.

I played the Demo, and the voice acting, at least IMHO, was just absolutely horrible.
Really made me dread talking to anyone

It did look good though, visually.

From the demo, it just seems as if they need to optimize the game better.
Although niether point is anything new to the Gothic series.

Also, check out the community for engine tweaks. Sometimes this can help a great deal.

I never played the demo, but it's the same in the original the IMHO is really annoying and made me switch of the game and reinstall with all the drivers (windows 7) updated, but still the same that when i searched the main gothic site and found the hotfix,Apparently it will fix "some major problems within the game that include character voice overs, low frame rates, smoother game play..." but then at the end they say "... on SOME SYSTEMS" But as you said they need to optimize the game, hopefully the hotfix will be just that. And i personally have gothic 2 as my all time top 5 games EVER.So im a huge gothic fan,so was very glad to see gothic 4 is like gothic 2 and not 3 and the storyline (so far) has the effect that i can't wait to get home and play more....But to each his own right?

The only Gothic I ever played is G3, so you can understand why I'm not exactly drooling over this one xD
idk, I should watch/read a review or two and see.

Right now, my money would rather go to Fable 3 or COD Black Ops

But to each his own right?

Very True :)

Also, if I recall correctly, didn't Arcania get delayed for release so they do some polishing work on it?

My guess is they will eventually get patches out to resolve the rest of the issues.

I don't think its your system itself though.

Still, if you can hold between 30-50FPS, I would consider this acceptable.

It looks great, but the speech simply is a drag. The story could use improvement. Also, the combat is not fulfilling. Not worth your money, I could name countless games you could enjoy.

The countless games that you could name if they are rpg's in the line of Dragonage or oblivion or even two worlds then i most likely already played it.As far as new games go i like this one.....if only the will fix the voice problem and low fps.But haven't yet patched the hotfix,so will see if it changes anything.

Very true,i agree 30-50 is acceptable, but as you know running at 70-100fps gives the game allot more room for big events. For example if its running at 30fps and the next level there are 20 little creatures and a "boss fight" the creatures keep running the boss uses high graphical magic and lets say a few explosions are added and so on.Your frames will drop to 15 maybe less then it will lag and spoil the hole game. But if you ran at 70fps it will drop to 55 or 50,and your still good!:D So that is the ONLY and main reason i wan't higher fps

I believe it's the game's problem, I'm also having low FPS, it's ridiculous, I had higher FPS in Crysis. Maybe it's their engine?

Also, have you played "the Witcher?"

YIP!! Great game(if it's the enhanced edition;normal one loads to long and a few bugs),i only strugled to get it working on 64 bit at first, but fixed that with a driver update. But other than that the witcher is brilliant even good enough to stack with dragon age and divinity2
