Solved Question on my network setup

First off i would like to thank who ever responds with any reasonable answers on this situation

Well i decieded to hook my old linksys router up again it is wireless 2.4 ghz I had it set up before but took it off due to Im the only one useing the service and pretty much noone else uses a wireless device that requires a connection

anyway my concern is the password i had used before and never changed it I want to make sure it is the same one i have used on here before i am useing the same pc i set everything up on

I just want to make sure i don't have people connecting when they want to when i put everything together all i had to do was click connect and it was on

so im assuming my password is still in tact or could someone give me a way to make sure i still have a password or find out if i got one still?

When it is connected use you browser to go to 192.168.1.1, or 192.168.0.1 and if there is a password it will prompt you for it. Even if yours is not intact there may be a generic UID and password from linksys built in try it and let us know the results.

Zigzag was talking about the router login password.

If you meant the network security key (WEP, WPA, WPA2), just go to the Control panel->Network and sharing center, then click on Manage wireless networks in the left panel. Click to highlight your wireless connection, then right click on it and select Properties. Click on the Security tab. The key will be hidden by asterisks by default, just click on Show characters button to dispaly the actual key.

But remember the router login username and password are equally important, if somebody guesses it, they can enter the router config page and lock you out of it.

yes bill i was talking about to WEP key sorry i didnt put that in before i was just rambling on

I think this sums it up as i am on private network meaning it is secured
