I think most of it is done with a program called Rainmeter, here's a description of the program:

Rainmeter is a desktop customization platform. yep - looks like rainmeter.

i don't know what that skin is called, it could be a few combined together.

there's also a customised start-orb and a fancy wallpaper.

So is Windows Aero required for this to work? or I can customize basic settings since my onboard video is absolute crap.

Anyways that preview in the first post really got me what is really holding me back from downloading it is the following:
1. Does it need Windows Aero to work?
2. Do you need constant connectivitiy to the internet at all times?
3. Is this even free?
4. When the info pack MK2 quoted "You can enhance your computer using skins." Does this mean more RAM usage?
5. Is ths recommened for computers like mine that has onboard video and not a card?

This is just a few things I would like to ask about this. Don't get me wrong I would download, but I need to be sure.
Oh and one more question:
6. How does one accomplish what is on the attachment and also estimated time of completion for this?

1 - don't need aero - it will work on xp

2 - no, only need internet to download it

3 - completely free and open source

4 - more skins will mean more ram, but not much

5 - it's very light on resources

6 - you can probably download the skin - if you can find it! where did you find the screenshot - is there more info? or google rainmeter skins, and have a look...

why not just try it and see? rainmeter.net

easily uninstallable if you don't like it.

no - it just installs like any other program, and adds a shortcut to your start-up folder.

there is nothing to worry about! trust me all it does is add dynamic text and simple gfx onto your desktop.

that's because you downloaded the zip file version, and not the installer.

(the zip file version is for more advanced users)

go back to rainmeter.net and download the installer.

do you mean while you download? doesn't really matter.

of course you need the rainmeter program running to see the skin.
