How to remove the 'shiny' effect of the title bar?

I want to remove the 'shininess' that you see on the title bar so it is all one color. See this image:

Help is appreciated.

The feature you are referring to is called Aero Desktop. To turn it off, right-click on the Desktop and choosing Personalize and then “Window Color and Appearance”

You should see the “Enable transparency” checkbox in this screen, which works immediately

It shows up when transparency is both enabled and disabled. The screenshot I took was with it enabled.

No. The stripes show up when transparency is enabled AND disabled.

Anyway, I found a solution in another thread: AeroTuner
It can remove the stripes.
