Hey all, first post here.

I just updated to Windows 7 X64. I'm having trouble finding the right drivers for my video card. The computer is a Dell e1505, and Dell doesn't officially support Windows 7. And by the looks of it, neither goes ATI, for this particular model at least. I'd appreciate any insight on what driver to get and how to install it, because until then, I'm stuck at 1024 X 768 resolution...

Hey !

Have you tried manually installing VISTA 64 bit drivers?
In most cases they are compatible.

What do you mean by manually? Yes, I've tried to install the 10.12 drivers for Vista 64bit. I can go through the installation process, but nothing really happens.

Hey

Go to "Device manager" -> right click on your graphic card and select "update driver software".
Then choose "browse my computer for driver software"
Now direct it to the folder where you extracted the driver. (usally c:\ATI\Support)
Click next, and let it install the drivers.

Restart your computer when its done, and it should work.

So, in the device manager, it's only showing "Standard VGA Graphics Adaptor", not my actually card.

I did, with no avail. It keeps showing that all drivers are up to date.

I used the mobility modder as described on its site, still with no success.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

AFAIK, that's the basic driver. It does not include CCC, or any of those extra features.

Yes that it is.But its far more better than getting the " Standard VGA adapter" under display properties which for some reason what other users have been getting for their respective laptop installs...=)
